I heard them coming - bellows from the Herefords, annoyed at being routed from their summer grazing in the Hurunui Valley. Shouting from the farmer to his dogs, loud barking from the huntaways as they tried to deter the cattle from plunging into the lake. A backdrop of blue shadowed manuka clad hillside, the dark green of Loch Katrine and the last rays of the sun touching the cattle with gold.

After last week's disastrous earthquake in Nepal I decided to complete and sell a painting about the region, to help raise money for the relief fund.I have just finished this painting "Prayers for Nepal" inspired by a photo taken by Chris Cowan, when he and my son visited in 2008. The view looks towards Everest.
All money raised from the auction will be donated to the NZ Red Cross Nepal earthquake appeal. If you would like to view the auction here is the link. http://www.trademe.co.nz/…/watercolour/auction-881845763.htm Please share this with anyone else who may be interested , thanks |
