A farmer friend has an old Lister engine which used to run his shearing machine Apparently he had to keep it lubricated with molasses to stop the belts from slipping! One of the things that I enjoy most about living next to mountains is the way the clouds sometimes lift to reveal tantalising glimpse of peak. I guess it's equivalent to Victorian men enjoying the odd flash of female ankle ! Often in the winter when the clouds are low there will be a sudden break in the clouds and a ridgeline reveals itself, seconds later it's gone again. It's hard to tell where and when it's going to happen, but always thrilling when it does. After painting a series of more intricate works I enjoyed this semi abstract painting- I hope that you do as well.
