Some people made a beeline for a painting and stood there entranced, others gave works a cursory glance, some people laughed their heads off at painting titles, others looked confused! One man told me, in very annoyed tones, that an "impressionist" style painting "looks very messy close up". I overheard time and again "When I win lotto....
I firmly believe that there's a person for every painting , and it's a real joy when they meet up!
This painting is my personal favourite - "Spring Frost" by Australian painter Elioth Gruner ,painted in 1919 and hanging in the Art Gallery of NSW. If I get the chance to visit Sydney I try to make time to go and sit with this one for a while, it's such a beautiful painting and I don't think I'll ever get tired of looking at it.
