We have had enough of this grey damp spring. Up at the Lake we've been luckier than most, still lots of rain but at least some fine days here and there. Today I decided that I needed a reminder of warmth and sunshine, and poppies always make me think of summer. I had fun playing about with silk inks on calico - I hope they bring a smile to your face :)

That is certainly true, but often words can paint a beautiful picture - I was reminded of this today when a friend
sent me this lovely old poem....I must make time to pull those poetry books off the bookshelf and let them paint some pictures in my mind "Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."
