Yesterday I walked with my Man , and we both realised at the same moment that we'd strolled down to the lake without taking any notice of what was around us, lost in conversation about something else. This morning I walked more slowly, stopping to enjoy the views , checking out the honeydew on the beech trunks (ask Mr Google) and listening to the tui singing loudly to his mate. There aren't many roses to stop and smell here, but lots of other stuff to stop me in my tracks. And it's a timely reminder that I need to take my sketchbook and head into the bush and just stop , look and listen for a while....
So even if you're not a painter, take time to just enjoy the world around you, whatever that may be.
