We've just returned home from four magic days down in the McKenzie Basin with Australian painting friends Lucy and Barry McCann

Lucy had her heart set on finding lupins to paint, and we've been nervously monitoring them from afar , as it looked like the weather was going to be delaying their flowering.But Lucy had total faith , and sure enough- there they were! So they've gone home happily with lots of lupin reference material, and I had plenty of time to paint my first love (after the Man) - the Southern Alps.
