During the evening, if we were stuck for info , someone would jump on their phone and ask Mr Google for info . These days we have the world at our fingertips when it comes to information. For the first time, I guess, humans can learn as they wish. A real treat for someone like me who has a short attention span.
It will be really interesting to see what this means for kids learning - especially those with any kind of information processing problems , such as ADHD and dyslexia. Are we rearing people with no ability to concentrate? Or just leaving them space in their brains to fill with the information that they choose to keep?
At this stage of my life I wish that I could delete some of the useless stuff I had to learn at school (British parliamentary acts? Logarithms? How to dissect a pigs eye?) to leave room for the things I'd like to retain! What do you think?
